The problem

Millions committed on the strength of a business case. Nobody checks the promised benefit.

The project is launched and its budget spent, but the promised benefit is never measured. At exit, the buyer only pays for what is proven. An unproven benefit stays out of the sale price.

  • −€800k

    A project stopped too late

A €2m project. The drift is spotted once 40% of the budget has already been spent.

  • −€600k a year

    Promised, never delivered

The business case promised €1m a year in benefits. The project delivers €400k, and nobody measures it.

  • Exit discount

    An unproven benefit

A project delivered mid-year shows only a few months in the accounts. The buyer only credits the full-year effect if the benefit is proven. Otherwise, the gap comes off the valuation, at the multiple.

65% of private equity professionals struggle to trace their value creation initiatives in reported EBITDA.

IPANEXT pays for itself with the first bad decision avoided.

And the exit is prepared from day one.

Our approach

  1. Decide

Launch the projects that create value

Before launch, every project is quantified: expected benefit, return on investment, payback period. Finance validates, the executive committee decides.

  2. Steer

    Hold the promised value

At every steering committee, the promised benefit is checked. A drifting project is reframed, or stopped in time.

  3. Prove

    Demonstrate the value created

Actual benefits are measured continuously and confirmed by Finance. When the VDD begins, the proof is already there.

About us

Ludovic Browaeys, founder of IPANEXT
Ludovic BrowaeysFounder of IPANEXT

A former member of Nespresso France’s executive committee, Ludovic knows your trade-offs from the inside.

For twenty-five years, Ludovic has led transformation programmes: as a consultant at CSC, EY, PwC and Kéa & Partners, then from the other side of the table, on an executive committee.

From both perspectives, he drew one standard: a project is judged not by its progress, but by what it delivers. That is what he puts in place, with IPANEXT, in PE-backed mid-market companies, all the way to exit.

His case studies and recommendations

Common questions

We already have a PMO. Isn’t that the same thing?

The PMO tracks progress: deadlines, budgets, risks. IPANEXT adds the value lens: what each project should deliver, and what it actually delivers. The PMO comes out stronger.

We already have a portfolio management tool.

Good. The method is tool-agnostic: it fits into the one you already use.

Our teams are already stretched.

It takes very little of their time. For a project manager, building the business case takes less than an hour, and Ludovic sets up the framework. He relies on your existing committees wherever possible, with a few short check-ins when useful.

Does IPANEXT carry out the VDD?

No. The VDD is carried out by an independent firm appointed by the seller. IPANEXT prepares, upstream, what that firm will review: documented benefits, validated by Finance.

We exit in a year. Is it too late?

No, provided you start now. A benefit is proven over several quarters of measurement, not in the rush of a sale process.

Does IPANEXT work for the fund or for the company?

IPANEXT works inside the company, alongside the executive committee, but the fund is one of the first to benefit. It gains a clear, precise view of the value created in its portfolio company, separating what projects promised, what they actually deliver and what can be defended at exit. It can then steer its investment by value, not only through financial reporting. When the same framework runs across several portfolio companies, the fund can also compare them.

Who does the work?

Ludovic Browaeys, personally. No firm, no juniors.

The value of your projects will be challenged. Better if it is already proven.
